David Petit-Frere, Hold a Master’s degree in American Law and international Business Practice for Boston University School of Law
David started his professional career as police officer in Haiti. After his first Law degree in Port-au-Prince; he moved up to work at General inspection of Haitian National Police (HNP) to investigating police abuse and violations of human rights. At the end of his 3 years contract, he voluntarily resigned from the National Police to work for 2 years at the Preparatory Commission for the Reform of Law and Justice (CPRDJ). Then for another 2 years working for the ombudsman Office of the Protection of Citizens (OPC) as a jurist-investigator, before becoming the Director of human rights at the Institute for Advance Political Studies (ISPOS)
It’s only when David moved to the US that he discovered his instinct for business and entrepreneurship, his attention on collaborative team building, and his commitment to meeting client and market demands. He opened and managed a successful brokerage firm; shortly thereafter he won such prestigious clients like Bank of America, wells Fargo/premiere Asset Properties, and so forth. He has achieved excellent results. His contagious enthusiasm infuses him and his team members with amazing energies and devotion. Under his leadership, his brokerage has sold more than $18 million of real estate in the very depressed market during the last economic recession in the US when banks would not lend money. And David alone has generated more than $12 million dollars of that figure, not including hundreds of contracts and others property preservation deals that he successfully negotiated on behalves of the banks.
David helped start, and/or seat in the board, and has been providing strategic advises to different US based non-profit and other successful businesses like:
1) The Haitian American Business Expo, a very dynamic chamber of commerce based in Massachusetts, working to provide more exposure Haitian businesses in the US.
2) The Motion Picture Association of Haiti, well known for organizing the movie awards in Boston for the past seven years, bringing Hollywood actors in Massachusetts alongside Haitian actors and movie makers.
3) The Coalition for Law and Justice, Inc. responsible for multiple social and political debates both in Boston Massachusetts and in Port-au-Prince
4) Sante fanm ak la fanmi, Inc, working to improve woman health and family.
Overall David Petit-Frere encompasses a successful 20-year a multidisciplinary experience. He firmly believes that businesses can drive social impact. After getting his masters in Law from BU, a top tier Law School in the US, he decided to devote the next 10 years of his life to working with startups and small businesses on projects that will create positive social impact in the developing world where he is deeply rooted, being from Haiti. David wants to emphasize that revenue opportunities can go hand in hand with positive social impacts, while promoting sounds economic development.
